Kajiado Children’s Home – From Larry Rupp, Co-Founder, and the US Board of Directors

We bring wonderful news to you regarding Kajiado Children’s Home.  Larry Rupp, as the co-founder and Chairman of the US Board, has assembled a group of dedicated individuals who have officially assumed responsibility and management of the home.

We are very appreciative of previous work by a UK board who worked for many years to support the home. We also appreciate the support shown by the vicar of their church in allowing and supporting the work of the UK parish to benefit the children in Kenya. Sponsors from the UK, the US and other countries helped create a safe environment for the children through their donations and sponsorships. Many thanks, and may God bless them for their efforts.

The US Board is made up of representatives from different churches. They have supported efforts at Kajiado Children’s Home for many years, both financially and through visits to the home, taking needed clothing, supplies and most of all a show of love and concern.

We are pleased to announce that Jason Lemooke has rejoined Kajiado Childrens Home as the Project Manager. Jason is well known to many people and was the Project Manger for ten years prior to his three year absence.

The kind people in Charlotte, North Carolina have raised enough money to build a well that will provide a safe supply of drinking water to the home, and set up a sustainable program. The site has been identified and we have already begun procuring the needed government permits for the digging.

The US Board is also partnering with the Presbyterian Church of East Africa, based in Nairobi to provide additional resources on the ground at the local level. Members of the US Board are also members of the Kenya Mission Network, an international organization, and are attending their Conference in Detroit, Michigan on October 10-12, 2013 -  www.kenyanetwork.org .

Afterwards, people from the US will be traveling to Nairobi to meet with our legal representative, as well as visiting Kajiado Children’s Home to interview local management committee candidates and implement processes to ensure the integrity of the home. Future endeavors include improved technology at the home to improve communications and planning additional resources.

While spending time with the children there, they will also be updating the children’s bios and identifying those who will need sponsors to provide for their care. This information will be readily available on our website for anyone who has an interest in making a difference in the life of a child.

Much work is needed, but we anticipate great things will happen through God’s guidance. We pray that God will speak to your heart about becoming involved, and that you will keep Kajiado Children’s Home in your prayers.  Thank you.
